The countdown itself

CentralWorld hosts the largest gathering, with a stage programme running through the evening and fireworks at midnight. It has been free to attend, though recent editions have used registration, so check the current year's arrangements rather than assuming.

Roads around the site close for the event, and the surrounding BTS stations carry far more people than usual in both directions.

Getting there and away

Arriving is the easy half. Leaving at 00:30 with a hundred thousand other people is the part that goes wrong, and it is worth deciding in advance how you are doing it.

Ride apps surge hard and struggle to reach you inside a closed-road perimeter. Walking ten or fifteen minutes clear of the cordon before ordering a car is usually faster than waiting inside it.

The alternative

The club strips run on 31 December and are a genuinely different evening — busy, but not crowd-crush busy, and with a room, a seat and a way home rather than a pavement.

RCA is well away from the countdown perimeter, so the road closures around CentralWorld do not affect getting there or leaving. Expect the night to be busier and priced accordingly.
